Students are introduced to the concepts of modern electronic devices, telecommunication, computer networking, control systems, microcontrollers etc. Both PG and the graduates of Electronics& Communication engineering have many job opportunities. This department offers hands on training to the students to meet the requirements of the industry in well equipped and hi-tech laboratories with state of the art instruments and equipments under the guidance of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty. |

Completed graduation in Electronics & Communication Engineering and post graduation in VLSI Design from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirapalli. Was faculty member in the School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering of the SASTRA University, Thanjavur since 1997. Took charge as the Head, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering in 2010. Her research interest is in nonlinear communication and DSP for VLSI.

ELECTRONIC TECHNOCRATS ASSOCIATION (ETA) is the association of the Electronic & Communication students of Sree Buddha college of Engineering. The association aims at improving the technical skills of the students by organizing and conducting different workshops and technical competitions.
A two day cultural and technical programme called “THAKSHATI” was conducted by the association in the academic year 2010-11. One of the major attractions was “the Robo War” that influenced the audience a lot. Other events of the day were Quiz competition and video presentation.
Teamed with excellent infrastructure and competent faculty, this department has proved to be unsurpassed .Curriculum includes subjects with wide applications in industries such as Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image Processing, VLSI Design, Radar and Television Engineering, Satellite and Mobile Communication, Nanoelectronics etc.. The department offers excellent lab facilities with the latest equipment. The various labs associated with the department includes

With a new vision to empower engineering innovations, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering presented the Technical saga, “TAKSHATI 2K11” on 18th February, 2011.
RTOSA 2011
Department conducted a National Seminar on 'Real Time Operating Systems and Applications' (RTOSA-2011) from 30th May to 1st June 2011.The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. V. P. Devassia (Principal, College of engineering, Chengannur).
Papers presented/published
- Mr. Aneesh Kumar S. (AP-ECE) presented a paper titled ‘A modified fractal antenna for multiband applications’ at the 2010 IEEE International Conference on Communication Control and Computing Technologies at St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engg. & Tech. from 7th to 9th October 2010.
- Mr. Alex V. (AP) of the Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering got the Best Presentation Award for the paper entitled “GPS assisted Train Anti Collision Device” in International Conference on RAME – 2010.
- A Research paper titled “A modified fractal antenna for multiband applications” by Mr. Aneesh kumar. S (AP) of the Department was published in IEEE international journal.
- A research paper entitled “GPS assisted Train Anti Collision Device” by Mr. Alex V. (AP) of the Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering is selected for the American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences.
- Mr. Sudeep. P.V. (AP) of the Department of Electronic and Communication Engineering published Paper entitled “A number theoretic approach for high capacity data hiding in images “in AMSE Journal Vol.53, Issue2, 2010.
