About the Department

Established in 2020, the Department of Food Technology offers a 4-year B.Tech degree program with a state-of-the-art curriculum designed by integrating various aspects of food science, technology, engineering, and management to meet the diverse demands of the food and allied processing sectors. The department is equipped with advanced infrastructure, laboratories, and highly qualified faculty, dedicated to providing students with an extensive education in food technology, encompassing both fundamental and advanced topics, with a strong emphasis on practical applications.

A significant aspect of the curriculum is the inclusion of industry visits, aimed at enhancing students practical knowledge and skills in food technology. These visits expose students to real-world applications, broaden their perspectives, and refine their technical abilities within the field.

Additionally, graduates are qualified for positions in government organizations such as the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Food Corporation of India (FCI), Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI), as well as state government cooperative dairy organizations and food and health departments, focusing on various aspects of food technology.
